It began with a childhood grubbing around in the undergrowth and exploring the fields and woods around my home. Several decades later and not much has changed. At the moment I’m an entomologist at Forest Research.
In between I have had jobs with conservation NGOs, undertaken academic research, worked as a freelance ecologist and spent many hours volunteering to protect and promote the wildlife in my local countryside.
I’m interested in all branches of natural history, but throughout my life, it’s been the small things without backbones that have captivated me most. In last last ten years moths have become my main obsession.
Throughout, I’ve met inspiring people, been to beautiful places, seen wonderful wildlife and had a lot of fun. All I can hope for is that the adventures will continue.
